Climate

It should come as no surprise that summertime in the desert is hot, and summer in Tucson is no exception. June is our warmest (and driest) month with an average daily high of 100.3 degrees farenheit. The benefit of living in such a dry climate is that it cools off quickly, with an average low of 69.3 degrees farenheit

Did we just mention that Tucson is a dry climate? Our June average relative humidity in the afternoons is just 13%. Those of you planning outdoor activities should plan on bringing lots of water (~1 Liter per person per hour), and plenty of sun protection.

Getting around Campus

Most conference activities will be centered around the north east portion of the UA Campus in the Keating and Medical Research Buildings. Please take a look at our Campus Map to see where these are located. The linked Map has the Kaibab Huachuca residence hall and both the Keating and Medical Research (MRB) Buildings marked.

Dining

Tucson has an excellent variety of restaurants in the University area, Fourth Avenue District, and Downtown. All are easily accessible to the conference venue. Visitor's guides will be provided to conference participants at check in that will list many of the restaurant options. In addition, there is a cafeteria in the University Hospital Building, next to the Conference venue, that has extended hours and is open seven days a week.
